Excalibur Classical Academy Opens Its Doors
Bringing Classical Christian Education to Colorado Families
Excalibur Classical Academy officially opened its doors in Centennial, Colorado on September 8, welcoming its inaugural class of students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. For the first year of operation only, the school has remarkably enrolled students tuition-free, via generous 100% scholarships.

The school press release explained, "Founded by Scott and Valerie Anderson, Excalibur Classical Academy was established to provide Colorado families with an excellent academic foundation while intentionally cultivating character, virtue, and a love of learning."

The school’s guiding vision is “Restoring America’s heritage, by developing servant leaders who are keepers and defenders of the principles of freedom for which our founding fathers pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor.”

Founders further explain the Excalibur Classical Academy model, "Excalibur provides a traditional, teacher-led education centered on the classical model. Students study phonics, grammar, Latin, handwriting and cursive, mathematics, history, science, music, art, and physical education. The school places a strong emphasis on developing both the mind and the character of each child."

“We are thrilled to welcome our inaugural scholars to Excalibur Classical Academy,” said Priscilla Rahn, Headmaster/CEO. “We believe children deserve an education that challenges them academically, forms their character, and prepares them to live purposeful lives. Classical education gives us a wonderful framework for doing exactly that.”

The school is starting small. Founders state in the press release that Excalibur is designed as a small school, able to provide close relationships between mentors, students, and families. The school emphasizes personal attention, strong academics, handwriting and books, meaningful conversation, and opportunities for students to practice leadership and responsibility.

The school hired Priscilla Rahn as principal several months before opening, and in a meeting last year, it was clear that the Andersons and Mrs. Rahn were resolute to get their new school open this Fall.

As the school explains it, Excalibur embraces the classical tradition of educating the whole person, developing wisdom, virtue, discipline, eloquence, and a lifelong love of learning. With this focus, a great school option in the Centennial region emerges. They say they are intent on developing a new educational community in Centennial and the surrounding area, offering families an alternative to conventional education through a distinctly classical and Christian approach. The school is located near I-25 and Dry Creek Road near the well-known landmark Maggiano's Italian restaurant.
